LITTLE SEEDLINGS

Waldorf Sarasota fosters a community of warmth and support for parents, and a nurturing atmosphere of joy and respect for young children. Little Seedlings Parent Child Playgroup includes nursery rhymes, lap games, finger plays, simple songs, stories, and natural snacks.

KINDERGARTEN

The essential elements of a Waldorf early childhood kindergarten class consist of real and authentic experiences of play, handwork, beeswax molding, socializing, coloring, domestic work, watercolor painting, storytelling, puppetry, role play, singing & creative movement. Additional activities could include plant dyeing, wood working, and gardening.To enhance listening skills simple songs and games are shared in Spanish.

These real and authentic experiences cultivate desired qualities in the young child, such as joyfulness, musicality, sensitivity, pro-social skills, sensitivity to sounds and spoken language, physical health, emotional well-being, and good habit formation. All of these cultivated qualities will support later academic learning.

NURSERY

Creative play, puppet storytelling, circle time, practical and artistic activities balance free, creative expression of your child within the teacher-led group experience. We work with natural materials for a true education of the senses.  Rhythms of the day, week and seasons provide a basis for structure, helping your child gain a secure relationship to the world.
