Thank you for your interest in Waldorf Sarasota. We realize that choosing a school is one of the most significant decisions a parent makes in shaping a child’s life and we are here to assist you in any way we can.
We are now enrolling new students in our Nursery, Kindergarten and Grades programs for the 2015-16 school year. The admissions office accepts applications year-round, with applications for immediate placement subject to availability.
The following steps comprise the application and enrollment process:
1. Attend an Open House, or schedule a private tour
We have many open houses throughout the year. These are the best opportunities to meet our teachers and families, experience what goes on in the classroom, and have your questions answered. Our next open house is on August 8th.
2. Submit an application
You may download applications for all of our programs here. All applications (with the exception of Little Clamshells) require a $40 application fee. This application fee is reduced by half if submitted 2 days after attending your first enrollment event. (Tour, Open house or Waldorf Wednesday)
3. Teacher Meeting
Shortly after you submit your child’s application for the Nursery, Kindergarten, or Grades program, you will be contacted to set up a meeting with the class teacher to discuss how your child could be best supported by Waldorf education. For children entering the Grades program, a school visit is required before the application process is complete.
4. Finalizing your enrollment
Upon acceptance and enrollment, signed paperwork and $100 tuition deposit is required in order to secure you child’s space. Before beginning school, parents will attend an orientation with our Administrative staff.
Our highest endeavor must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The need for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility – these three forces are the very nerve of education. - Rudolf Steiner
